Research & Development

Pushing the boundaries of biosensing through interdisciplinary innovation.

R&D Team

Meet the Team

The research and development team is a brand-new division within BioSense. Created in 2025 and currently composed of 10 students, our team is motivated to develop new scientific tools by combining different disciplines such as electronics, chemistry, and physics.

Our goal is to deepen our knowledge in those fields in order to bring a new dynamic to the association.

Incoming Projects

Our current objective is to build our own Digital Microfluidic (DMF) device — a technology that consists of manipulating microdroplets using electrodes.

To make this achievable, we are currently exploring new approaches to DMF, such as:

  • Displacing droplets with a mechanical arm
  • Visualizing their motion on a screen

For now our team is still researching the possibilities, future applications, and learning more about the electronics parts involved.
